We created a 360° immersive theater content themed around Japan's four seasons and spirituality for "tem," a newly opened immersive space in the Phoenix Mall of Asia, a commercial complex in Bangalore, India.

Eternal Flow

The circle will eventually become the universe.

Starting from the cyclical structure inherent in Japan's four seasons and connecting it to the mandala-like worldview of India, this work presents the underlying spiritual structure common to both as a spatial entity. By mirroring the floor and ceiling, the space is infinitely amplified vertically, and a 360° panoramic image unfolds on the walls. This expansion is not merely an extension of space, but even the concepts of direction and time become diluted, liberating the viewer's perception to a cosmic scale. The flow of time is eventually transformed into geometry, and starting from the light that appears at the center of the mandala, layers of all things and memories emerge in a multi-layered manner. It functions as a place where consciousness and memory are accumulated, revealing a fundamental connection that transcends divisions such as race and culture. This work is an attempt to transcend two cultures and connect from a cosmic perspective to the very structure of human consciousness.

The Pulse of Light

The heartbeat will eventually open up another world.

In collaboration with the Japanese taiko drumming group DRUM TAO, we have created an immersive mirror-structured space that fuses physicality with digital expression. By using volumetric photography techniques, we reconstruct the performers from angles that cannot be captured from conventional perspectives, deconstructing and amplifying their bodies within the space. The sound of the drums is not merely acoustic, but is visualized as ripples and waves, spreading throughout the entire space and enveloping the viewer. Eventually, the performers transform into beings of light, appearing as white dragons. The viewer is gradually led into the interior of a gigantic structure, passing through multiple layers of fire, lanterns, and light, quietly deviating from the scale of reality. In the space amplified by the mirrored surface, existence repeatedly multiplies and disappears, and the boundary between reality and fantasy slowly dissolves. This kaleidoscopic, ever-changing experience is an attempt to simultaneously highlight the strength, eeriness, and mystery inherent in Japanese culture. By combining the fundamental energy of the taiko drum with the feeling of dreams and reality intersecting, we present a uniquely Japanese spirituality as a new spatial experience.
